Under the High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) programme, Shropshire Council engaged Environmental Associates to review four historic alleyways in the town centre. The project aimed to enhance the alleyways; creating safer, attractive and more useable spaces. We completed an alleyway conditions assessment, prepared a list of potential improvements and consulted with the public, property owners and relevant authorities to assess their support for the proposals. Our findings were then presented to the Council and Heritage England in an illustrated report with a comprehensive cost breakdown and clear implementation strategy.
